In the summer of 2022, rising prices in the economy made it increasingly more difficult to become a homeowner. The housing market was struggling and so were home inspectors like my dad. I was tasked to increasing the number of inspections coming in. To achieve this, I developed a brand style guide for Pillar To Post Quinn. I researched competing inspectors, analyzed the different services available to customers, and learned about general home health tips. Afterwards, I created an Instagram account with the goal of reaching a 25+ year old target looking to buy their first home.

The real challenge was getting our audience to care about home inspections. The average person is likely not interested in water damage, radon, or asbestos…so I had to make the posts relevant for the consumer. I created content that was easy to understand with little baseline knowledge of homes. To grab attention and retain followers, I continued to post useful content such as how to winterize your home, when to get a home inspection, what major problems in your home look like, and I shared content about Pittsburgh.
